Hadlock Student Center Membership & Access

Undergraduate Students

The Hadlock Student Center (HSC) is open to all current full-time and part-time (taking five or more credits) ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox undergraduate students. Students must first in order to have access to Hadlock.

Students must be degree-seeking. Credits from field experience, clinicals, internships or practicums do not count toward the five-credit total. Students who do not meet the minimum requirements for an automatic membership may be elligible to purchase a supplemental membership to the Hadlock Student Center for $80 per term (spring, summer or fall).  Short-term memberships may also be an option but are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Graduate Students

Graduate students are elligible for access to the Hadlock Student Center if they are taking at least five credits and paying the comprehensive fee associated with Hadlock and other programs and services. The three programs that are currently paying this fee include the following: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Master of Medical Science (PA), and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). Please note that DPT students who are in their clinical rotation semester do not pay any of these fees for that semester and will need to pay the additional membership fee described below for that semester only.  Graduate students must first in order to have access to Hadlock.

Any graduate students not listed here are not paying the fee but are elligible to purchase a supplemental membership to the Hadlock Student Center for $80 per term (spring, summer or fall).  Short-term memberships may also be an option but are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Graduate students who do not have automatic access can also buy guest passes as described in the guest pass policy. 

Accelerated Online Degree Program Students

Accelerated online degree program students are not paying the comprehensive fee associated with the Hadlock Student Center and other campus programs and services. Therefore, these students can opt to purchase a supplemental membership to the Hadlock Student Center for $80 per term (spring, summer or fall). Short-term memberships may also be an option but are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Accelerated online degree program students can also purchases guest passes as described in the guest pass policy. They must  before accessing the Hadlock Student Center.

Student Spouses

Married undergraduate and graduate students that meet the eligibility requirements for the HSC (see above) can purchase a membership for their spouse at the beginning of each academic term (fall, spring and summer) for $80. A marriage license or other official document may be requested at the time of purchase. This policy does not apply to engaged students. Memberships are not prorated if purchased later in the academic term. Student spouses must .

ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox Employees

All university employees have access to the HSC using their ID card during posted hours of operation. Adjunct faculty and temporary staff will have access while they are actively employed, although this group is not eligible for spouse or dependent benefits. Emeritus employees have the same access as full-time ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox employees. Employees must on an annual basis.

Family and Dependents of Employees

Full-time university employees can request a ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox University ID card for a spouse or dependent (aged 18 to 26) by contacting the IT Service Desk (servicedesk@georgefox.edu ) on behalf of their spouse or dependent. Spouses and dependents are not allowed to use the employee’s ID card for entrance. Please note that the process of gaining an ID card can take up to two weeks.

A dependent is defined as a member of the household who is claimed as a dependent on the employee’s tax return. Spouses and dependents (aged 18-26) will be provided a MyºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵFox login and be required to complete . 

Dependents aged 12 to 17 can use the HSC while directly supervised by a parent/guardian, although they are not required to obtain a ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox University ID card. Dependents under the age of 18 need to have a completed  on file prior to utilizing the facility.

Family Days

Several times a year the HSC will host Family Days. Family Days are an opportunity for ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox employees and their immediate family members to use the facility. Children under 12 are allowed in all areas of the HSC as long as they are superivsed by a parent or guardian. Please bring your ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox ID card and complete a  for dependants under the age of 18.

ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox Alumni

Several times a year the HSC will host Alumni Days. Alumni Days are an opportunity for ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox alumni and their immediate families to use the facility. Children under 12 are allowed in all areas of the HSC as long as they are superivsed by a parent or guardian. Family members aged 12 to 17 can use the cardio/weight equipment while directly supervised by a parent/guardian. Please bring a photo ID.

Prospective Students

Prospective students can utilize the Hadlock Student Center if they have a Future Bruin VIP Pass (or nametag for Bruin Preview events) from the admissions office. The student must have a completed consent form on file with the admissions office, which is managed via their online student visitation process. Prospective students may take part in most activities offered in the HSC.

Guests

Daily guest passes can be purchased for $7 by anyone 18 or older. Guests are limited to five visits per month. Guests do not need any sponsor or affiliation with ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox University.

Approved guests will need to complete the    before entry to the HSC.

A guest pass allows guests to use the facility and also participate in group fitness classes and climbing wall classes. Registration for these activities is required through IM Leagues. At this time, the guest pass does not allow access to outdoor recreation trips and activities, intramural sports, climbing competitions, and special events offered by University Recreation (unless otherwise specified).

To use equipment in the facility (like basketballs and climbing shoes) the sponsor must check out the equipment for their guest. However, a membership or guest pass is not required to rent outdoor equipment from the HSC Rental Center.

University Recreation will occasionally allow access to the facilities for visiting individuals and limited-duration employees or volunteers who do not qualify for a ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox ID card. Contact the director of campus recreation to discuss your situation. 

Chehalem Aquatic & Fitness Center Access

Current ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox students and employees have FREE access to the which is adjacent to the ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox University campus in Newberg. To initiate this benefit, simply stop by the front desk at the Chehalem Aquatic & Fitness Center and tell them that you are a ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox employee or student. Benefits do not extend to family members or spouses, but certain discounts may be available for these users (please inquire).

Our ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox Student Government (ASC) provides this benefit to students each year. University Recreation (UREC) does not manage anything related to this access, but listing it here provides relevant information for our community regarding this incredible benefit and partnership with our local Chehalem Parks & Recreation District (CPRD).
