One of the largest spaces on campus, Bauman Auditorium seats 1,119 people and hosts chapel, special lectures and numerous band, choir and orchestra concerts. Chapel is offered twice a week and is open to our entire community of students, staff and faculty. Weekly chapel attendance is a required part of the student experience, and there are more than 200 hours of worship, Bible study, prayer and service opportunities available throughout the year.
Bauman Auditorium is named after William and Mary Bauman, longtime supporters and benefactors to the university. It’s known for its superior acoustics and annually draws the Oregon Symphony to Newberg to perform a concert. The symphony’s late James DePreist described the auditorium as “one of the finest venues for music-making in this country.”
Bauman hosts various student activities and concerts throughout the year. Highlights include the music department’s much-loved ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ concert, as well as the Lip Sync competition and the Dating Game, both popular ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox traditions.
