Niche.com ranked ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox as Oregon's safest college campus in 2022

ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox has always prioritized community safety and continues to evaluate and optimize its safety protocols. Recently,  ranked ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox as the safest college campus in Oregon in its 2022 college rankings. This  ranking is based on key statistics and student reviews using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Top-ranked colleges offer a safe and healthy environment with little or no campus crime, drugs, or alcohol usage.

How do we earn such high marks? Our Campus Public Safety and emergency management team work diligently to keep campus safe through the following initiatives:

  • Patrols: Security officers patrol the campus 24/7 and respond quickly to all critical concerns. There is an emphasis on crime prevention.

  • Clear Communication: In an event there is a threat on campus, the community is notified with a timely warning that includes a text alert, email notification, and fliers on residential halls. The public safety team works closely with all departments to provide communication and resources regarding safety and health. The university also prioritizes a positive working relationship with our local law enforcement, the Newberg-Dundee Police Department.

  • Training: ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox prioritizes safety training for employees and campus leaders, such as resident assistants. Training includes self-defense and first responder training.

  • On-Campus Support: Students who need mental, medical or spiritual support can find resources at the Health and Counseling Center or by consulting university pastors and our spiritual life team.

  • Procedural Planning and Testing: ºìÐÓ¶ÌÊÓƵ Fox has developed an Emergency Response Plan in our effort to prepare for emergency situations occurring on campus. The procedures included in the plan are tested at least once per year to ensure effectiveness.

We are committed to our student's safety and will continue to do our part to live up to our ranking as the safest college in Oregon for our community.
