Sarah Kerrigan

Sarah Kerrigan joined the university as an assistant professor of mathematics in 2022. In the seven years previous, she worked as a graduate teaching assistant in Virginia Tech’s mathematics department, holding positions that included instructor of record, grader, lab instructor, recitation leader, and math emporium staff. Her tenure allowed her to gain teaching experience, as she taught differential equations, calculus, numbers and operations, and precalculus, among other mathematics courses, between 2017 and 2022.

Sarah earned a PhD in mathematics from Virginia Tech in 2022 and previously earned a master’s degree from Virginia Tech (2018) and a bachelor’s degree in the discipline from Oregon State University (2015).

She lives in Newberg with her dog Thistle and enjoys running and hiking with her dog, board game nights with friends, and spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephews.
